Evaluating the Enterprise Zambia Challenge Fund
Agriculture is central to Zambia’s economy, employing over 60% of the workforce, yet it contributes only 2.8% to the GDP. The Enterprise Zambia Challenge Fund (EZCF), funded by the European Union (EU), is tackling the challenges faced by the sector’s stakeholders by helping smallholder farmers and agribusinesses. It does so by offering financial and technical support, strengthening market linkages and addressing policy barriers.
Expectation State collaborated with Self Help Africa to carry out an endline evaluation for the Enterprise Zambia Challenge Fund.
The purpose of this evaluation was to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability of the project. It identified challenges that the project encountered, suggested recommendations, and identified lessons to be learned on the design, implementation, and management of the EZCF.
