Sacha Robehmed

Sacha is an Expectation State Partner, leading our Digital portfolio.

Sacha supports organisations to develop digital strategies, policies, and products that are rights-based and inclusive.

Prior to joining Expectation State, Sacha worked as a research consultant designing, implementing, and analysing digital services. Sacha’s recent projects include researching women’s experiences of mobile money in Jordan and prototyping solutions for GIZ; designing and implementing WhatsApp chatbots for the International Rescue Committee; researching and recommending how society membership organization CIVICUS could best support support its 12,000 members in using digital technologies, and developing policy recommendations on biometric identity systems in Lebanon for digital rights organization SMEX. She also sits on the Funding Committee of Elrha’s Humanitarian Innovation Fund.

With a background in anthropology, Sacha uses human-centered design and user experience methods in her research when appropriate. She also facilitates training in design thinking and innovation methodologies — from digital transformation capacity building with UNDP staff, to running workshops convening Response Innovation Lab stakeholders, to coaching social entrepreneurs in north Lebanon.

Sacha has worked in West Asia (Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon) and East Africa (Kenya and Somalia). She holds an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, and a BSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics.
